About

Platina is an independent European investment firm established in 2002. We focus on renewable energy infrastructure projects, mostly wind and solar via Platina Energy Partners and private equity investments in small and medium sized companies via Platina Equity Solutions.

Our aim is to identify high potential opportunities and realise their value by applying our disciplined investment approach and experience. We have an experienced team based in London, Paris and Milan, managing €500 million of equity. At every stage of the process we employ clear-sighted investment analysis and management rigour. We combine this with pragmatic operational capability, taking a hands-on approach to every aspect of our investments. At Platina we have a track record of close collaboration with managers and developers delivering value both to them and to our investors.

Renewable Energy

We have been investing in renewable energy infrastructure since 2002. Our distinctive and disciplined investment approach is founded on our understanding of the European energy sector. With €380m under management focused on this sector we have built a successful track record having realised a number of investments and returning significant capital gains as well as cash yield to our investors.

Renewable energy is already an essential component of the European energy mix. Over the next decade we believe that there will be sustained growth driven both by increasing demand and by government actions to mitigate climate change and energy security concerns.

Our principal focus is on wind, solar and biomass. The projects we invest in use established technologies. We invest across Europe and have extensive business experience in multiple geographies. We invest at any stage from development through to operation.

Our team of 30 is led by 3 partners with 16 investment and technical professionals integrating engineering, operational, strategic and financial skills. We have:

  • Experience of managing the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects:
  • Greenfield positions held for more than 2,100MW since inception;
  • Overseen construction for more than 430MW
  • Currently operating more than 540MW
  • Skills in structuring project contracts and financing, raising €826 million of non-recourse project finance debt;
  • Strong relationships with technology suppliers, renewable energy developers and financing banks; and
  • State of the art software and systems to support asset and portfolio management.

Our engineering firm, Entap, oversees the technical validation, construction and operation of our renewable energy projects.

Platina Partners has signed the 2014 Global Investor Statement on Climate Change. Platina Partners joined more than 340 investors globally calling for strong climate policies and a global climate deal.
